CampaignManager Technical Specs

Digital Signage Software Technical Requirements

CampaignManager requires a windows operating system (Windows XP, Windows XPE, Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008) in order to run.  From a minimum hardware perspective, the requirements are negligible and CampaignManager will operate on the lowest powered Windows capable device.

Digital Signage Software Component Requirements

You will require:

  • A Microsoft Windows operating system
  • A web server
  • The .net framework

Computer and Network Configuration Requirements

You will require:

  • An open TCP port
  • A TCP/IP connection between the player and service PC
  • If the CampaignManager and CM Service computers are not one and the same, a UNC network share access between the CampaignManager PC and the Service PC

Hardware Requirements

There is a very wide range of PCs currently running CampaignManager to manage media networks.  They range from cheap desktop PCs all the way to fully redundant rack mounted eight-way processor servers.  Your actual requirements will very likely have very little to do with the specific Ryarc software requirements and very much to do with how big your network is and what redundancy and availability requirements you have.

For the CampaignManager/CM Service computers

At a bare minimum, we would recommend the following configuration:

  • 1 GHz processor
  • 1 GB memory
  • 1 GB free disk space
  • 1024 x 768 pixels graphics card or better
  • At least 32,768 colors

For small networks (less than 50 players) the above specification will work.  The reality is that even the cheapest PCs are now much more powerful.  We would recommend:

  • Windows Server based O/S
  • 2 Ghz processor
  • 2 GB memory
  • 20 GB free disk space

For the CM Player Machines

This answer depends upon what media you want to play.  For example, if all you want to show is low/medium quality video with slide packs and web content, then the very cheapest PC should suffice.  In reality, the minimum requirements of your system will be that of the media you want to deliver.  Most generally speaking, here is what we recommend:

  • 1 GB Ram
  • P4 or better (not Celeron)
  • 128mb Separate graphics card (not shared)

Again, we must stress that for many applications a Celeron and 256MB of ram will suffice.  It all depends on the media you want to show!
