Welcome to the CampaignManager Quick Start Guide
This document is divided into two parts. The first shows you how to setup the CampaignManager, CM Service and CM Player. The second part of this document is a step by step guide to getting started with the system. For in-depth help on each part of the system, refer to the Help files which are supplied with the applications.
How many PCs are required?
Strictly speaking, just one. However, for practical reasons, it makes sense to have the CM Player on a separate machine to CampaignManager. We recommend at least two machines (one hosting CampaignManager and CM Service and one hosting the CM Player) and preferably three. One machine for each component.
Prerequisites
CampaignManager is built on Microsoft's .net Platform and the latest version of the graphics engine DirectX. In order for CampaignManager to function correctly you must install the following applications prior to proceeding with the installation.
- Microsoft .net Platform 2.0
- Adobe Flash Player 9.0
- Microsoft DirectX 9.0c
- Internet Explorer 6 or above
- Windows Media Player
The CM Service requires a web server. You can use any web server, but IIS comes with many versions of Windows including Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003. See more on Setting up IIS
If the entire installation is to be set up on one machine then a web server is not required.
